Telford, UK, 2 December 2025 – Inspired by the UK’s annual Countryfile Calendar competition – which has taken place for over three decades – Ricoh UK Products Ltd’s (RPL) Biodiversity Group has launched a Biodiversity Calendar, in support of Cuan Wildlife Rescue, Telford.

Launched as a competition in August 2025, employees from Ricoh UK Products Ltd and Ricoh Printing Solutions Europe Ltd were invited to submit photos, which best represent the theme of ‘Biodiversity Britain’.

This included images of mammals, birds, and insects, their weird and wonderful habitats, in addition to seasonal photos and landscapes showcasing biodiversity in all its natural form.

Following a 3-month entry period, the judges – members of the Biodiversity Group – conducted scored judging of an impressive 71 entries which made it to the finals, from 30 contributors.

The winning photo, making it onto the cover of the calendar and winning a £50 Amazon voucher, was taken by RPSE’s Colour Champion and photography enthusiast, Jason Dale:

At the start of December, RPL’s Communications team helped launch the calendar, with employees able to purchase this on site now, at a cost of £6.50. Subsequently, in the New Year, all proceeds will be donated to the Cuan Wildlife Rescue – the chosen charity of the competition winner, Jason.

Cuan Wildlife Rescue is Shropshire's only wildlife rescue centre, rescuing, caring for and rehabilitating sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and birds.

Speaking of the calendar initiative, RPL’s Engineering Manager (Manufacturing & Facilities) and Biodiversity Group lead, Tim James, commented: “Not only will the outcome of this competition help fundraise for a local conservation-based charity, but it’s been an opportune time for employees to engage, participate and  learn more about the incredible biodiversity we have here onsite, in the local community, and further afield.

“Thanks to the voluntary hours logged by our Biodiversity Group in running this initiative, it has also contributed towards our corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments and supports Ricoh’s wider ‘conservation of Biodiversity’ aspirations.

“These are both aligned to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – helping employees maintain good health and wellbeing (SDG3) and protecting, restoring and promoting sustainable use of ecosystems (SDG15).”

He added: “Huge thanks again to everyone involved. Your involvement has made this a truly inspiring celebration of the wildlife and biodiversity found locally and across Britain. Happy New Year for 2026!
