RPL donates £750 to Hope House Children’s Hospices through employee fundraising initiatives

Telford, UK, 28 May 2026 – Earlier today, Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) proudly donated £750 to Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices following a series of employee-led fundraising initiatives held throughout the financial year.

RPL’s donation combined proceeds from the company’s “Let’s Eat Cake” charity bake sale alongside voluntary charitable contributions made through the company’s Bright Ideas and Good Spots employee engagement schemes.

The “Let’s Eat Cake” event, organised by RPL’s HR team, took place across all three site canteens and received enthusiastic support from employees across the business.

Colleagues from RPL and Ricoh Printing Solutions Europe Ltd (RPSE) purchased homemade cakes and refreshments throughout the day, helping to generate valuable funds for the charity.

RPL also recognised the support provided by Olive Catering Services, who contributed donated cakes and complimentary teas and coffees for the event.

Further fundraising came through RPL’s Bright Ideas and Good Spots schemes, which encourage employees to actively contribute towards continuous improvement across the organisation.

The Bright Ideas scheme recognises employees for submitting innovative suggestions that improve processes, efficiency, safety, cost and delivery, sustainability, quality, or workplace culture across the business. Meanwhile, the Good Spots scheme enables employees to identify issues and anomalies, risks or unsafe states, helping to stop potential issues becoming problems.

Employees whose suggestions receive recognition can receive monetary awards, and some colleagues chose to donate these awards to charity throughout the financial year.

Collectively, these charitable donations raised £438, which was added to the bake sale proceeds to create the final £750 donation.

The funds were formally presented during an on-site visit attended by Dawn Ball, Area Fundraiser for South Shropshire and Telford at Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices.

Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith provide specialist nursing care and support for local children with life-threatening conditions, as well as emotional and practical support for their families.

Speaking about the fundraising effort, Jayne Garner, Continuous Improvement Engagement Coordinator, praised the generosity and community spirit shown by employees across the business, whose collective contributions helped support an important local cause.

She added: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your generosity and continued support—it truly makes a difference.”

The donation forms part of RPL’s continued commitment to supporting charitable and community initiatives within the local area.
