Ricoh recognised as a Prime Seat Company in the 2025 Nikkei SDGs Management Grand Prix

Earned top five-star rating for seventh consecutive year

Nikkei SDGs Management Survey 2025 accreditation.

Telford, UK, 28 November 2025 Ricoh today announced it has been selected as one of the three Prime Seat Companies in the 2025 Nikkei SDGs Management Grand Prix, organised by Nikkei Inc.

The designation is based on Ricoh's performance in the 2025 Nikkei Sustainable Management Survey: SDGs management section, in which the company received the highest five-star rating (deviation value of 70 or higher) for the seventh consecutive year. The award ceremony was held 27 November, 2025.

The Nikkei SDGs Management Grand Prix recognises companies that integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their management approach and create social, economic and environmental value through their businesses while enhancing corporate value. The survey evaluates companies across four areas — SDGs strategy and economic value, social value, environmental value and governance — using 18 indicators developed from corporate questionnaires and publicly available data.

Prime Seat Companies are selected from among participating companies that continue to earn high evaluations for advanced initiatives, even as expectations for SDGs performance rise each year.

In the 2025 survey, Ricoh's initiatives were evaluated particularly well in the following areas:

  • Proactive disclosure of environmental impact data
  • Collaboration with other companies on renewable energy, including efforts toward off-site corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
  • Reducing electricity consumption while increasing the share of renewable energy in total power use
  • Advancing initiatives aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)

Ricoh President and CEO Akira Oyama, said at the award ceremony, “Guided by our founding principles, the Spirit of Three Loves, we have steadily advanced ESG across our operations.

It calls on us to respect all people connected to our business, protect the global environment in which we live, and promote wellbeing through meaningful work — values that closely align with the SDGs. These values underpin our long-held view that ESG management and business growth follow the same path.

We view ESG as a critical driver of future financial value and believe it is essential to enhancing corporate value over the medium to long term.”

Ricoh's approach to sustainability is to pursue a sustainable society through a Three Ps Balance — Prosperity (economic), People (society) and Planet (environment). To help realise this vision, Ricoh has identified seven material issues across two focus areas — “Resolving social issues through business” and “Robust management infrastructure” — and has set 16 ESG targets linked to these material issues.

The Ricoh Group considers aligning ESG with business growth essential to enhancing corporate value over the medium to long term and will continue to strengthen ESG initiatives that contribute to value creation while maintaining proactive and transparent disclosure to stakeholders.
