Environmental
Achieving environmental conservation and profits simultaneously.
The ‘E’ of ESG stands for Environmental.
The Ricoh Group considers environmental conservation activities and corporate activities as having the same level of significance. Thus, we recognise our responsibility toward the environment and take groupwide measures for the reduction of impacts on the global environment and for the restoration of the earth’s regenerative ability.
Environmental Targets (RCL)
Ricoh Company Ltd (RCL) has established environmental targets in two areas:
Zero Carbon Society Ambition: In line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Ricoh aims to achieve ‘net zero’ Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 2040.
Circular Economy Ambition: Ricoh is committed to operating a Circular Economy (CE) business model. It requires redesigning products to be more durable, reusable, repairable, and recyclable, and therefore kept in circulation for as long as possible.
Global targets in this area include:
- Reducing the input of new resources by 40% by 2030.
- Reducing the input of new resources by 88% by 2050.
Environmental Targets (RPL)
Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) has been pursuing ‘net zero’ for over two decades. Our journey has led us on an accelerated timeline to achieve net zero GHGs by 2030. Over 250 energy efficiency initiatives have taken place to date including:
- Introducing a 1.6-Megawatt Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system.
- Rolling out LED lighting across sites.
- Moving to a 100% renewable energy contract.
As part of our Circular Economy approach, RPL is also proud to have achieved ‘zero waste to landfill’ since 2002.
Sustainable Manufacturing
Sustainable manufacturing is in our DNA. We make it our business to find greener ways to power our operations, manufacture and distribute our products, and recycle our waste.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
You can be assured that when you work with Ricoh, we’re supporting you in reducing your environmental footprint.
